i have a 1998 Ford Expedition 4 x 4, 205,000 miles. On three different occasions this vehicle has "locked up" and gone into a slide. The first time I was making a left turn, wet pavement, but not snow covered or icey. Upon completion of the left turn the vehicle went into a 360 degree spin. I was not making this turn too fast and it was a pretty wide turn. Driving today thie vehicle got stuck in 4 wd. I had to put it in reverse to get it to disengage. I did not have the 4 wd on when coming up to a stop sign. I applied the brakes, slowly, because of slush- covered roads, and it started to slide. I was able to bring the vehicle to a stop at a stop sign. My tires are in good condition. A few blocks past the stop sign while still driving on slush covered roads the vehicle started sliding. It was not in four wheel drive, I was not applying the brakes,at the time it went into a slide and was not going too fast. It felt as though the vehicle locked up when it went into the slide. Any ideas on what this could be? I am definitely going to park this vehicle for now. Thanks for any info. Joyce
