Last month my 98 Grand Prix's light came on saying add coolant, but being broke I added water. Now a month later the engine keeps overheating so I bought coolant and filled it. It seemed fine for 1 week, but now it's heating up past the danger zone. So I was bringing the temp down by blasting the heater, but now even that isn't working when I'm going under 40 MPH. The coolant, water and oil are staying full, and I don't see any leakage or busted hoses. Can anyone help me diagnosis this problem so I can know what I'm looking at financially?( I lost my personal mechanic in the divorce!) lol Thanks! Kat

Your problem is not what're filling it with. It's that you have a leak that you haven't found yet and it's putting air pockets in the system that you didn't get out when you filled it. You need to pressure test the system to find and repair the leak.
