1998 Pontiac Sunfire, 2.2 I just replaced the struts, because Mine were fried. Both front tires were leaning IN at the TOP, and OUT at the bottom. The inside of both tires has massive wear on them because of this. So i replaced the struts last night, only to find that now the front passenger tire is fine, straight up and down, and facing straight. But now the front driver side tire is turned outward, to the left, while the passenger one is facing straight. Will a front end alignment or tire alignment fix this? Or is it a possibility that the tire rod on the driver side is bad? Thanks guys!

The front end alignment is all you needed in the first place. The struts are adjustable to correct the Camber issue. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

The struts DID need to be replaced. They were in horrible shape. THe car would continually bounce after hitting the smallest of bumps, and it would hit hard. But thanks, I will take it in for wheel alignment and hopefully that will fix the driver side as well.

Well, that is information that you never included in your original question. They did not need to be replaced because of the wheel position that you described in your question. If they were shot anyway, then now you need a good alignment.

Oh I didn't include that because they were already replaced. The main issue I was wondering about was why one wheel was aiming left while the other was straight. But thanks again! I will take it in for an alignment and update the results!

In some cases the slot in the strut has to be elongated so don't be surprised if they charge you extra for that if it isn't done already.
