Truck was running great. Sat for 4 days or so. Winter but not cold, avg temp -10. I went out to start the truck. It would just crank and crank. lots of cranking power but would not grab. Fuel pump seems to be working. Changed the distributor cap and rotor. Changed all plugs, and changed the plug cables. Tried to start it a couple of times, short intervals. Now it wont even try to crank over. Lots of battery. Going to try and jump the starter to eliminate a start issue. If anyone has any trouble shooting help I would be greatly thankful .

The first thing you should do is get an accurate fuel pressure gauge and test the fuel pressure. That engine will not run under 55PSI. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

Got it running by jumping the starter. Seems to start every time by key now. But is misfiring now. When I changed the plugs and wires I was careful to make sure it went back all the same. Going to make sure that the plug wires are all connected and put on the proper way. Now wondering if I should change the starter while I have it in the garage. any comments?

I seriously doubt you have a problem with the starter.

Why would you change a starter for a no start when you typed the engine was cranking? Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

If you read all of the updates, you would have seen that it was not cranking over after the fact. I jumped the starter it would start a few times than it wouldnt. Changed the starter, now the truck starts everytime. The truck ended up having two problems at the same time the distribution cap and starter were both gone at the same time. And whatever about the US Congress, I am in Canada and our Government isnt as messed as yours. Thanks for those who helped and tried.
