98 Town & Country computer problems??? Sign In

The other day my van started and stalled three or four times in a row and then everything went completely dead no starter no idiot lights nothing. I disconnected the battery for about 15 minutes connected to battery backup and it started right up with no problems. It now seems to do this about once a week. any ideas?

1st you need to know the battery that went as if disconnected is any good AND all connections. Then test charging system that it's up to par. That much before other issues if any can be chased down.

Most will regulate alternator thru ECM (computer) if not charging. If so and you are charging it or swapping batteries always allowing them to get VERY low it will ruin batteries. 1st things first then tests right away on to a parasitic drain possible but not as likely if happens while running as you said it did,

This is likely not a charging system problem. You are clearing the computers when you disconnect the battery.

I think you need to read the codes when this happens and not disconnect anything.
