'99 Chevy Suburban has occasionaly not started, no codes showing no trouble lights. Shortly after troubles fuel pump died. Have now replaced fuel pump and filters twice in two years. Still having occasional start problem. Today no fuel pressure, fuel pump not running.

These if the Vortec 5.7 really want exacting fuel pressure. Plain plugs can be the issue, relay or pump again. They hate running low on fuel (a real fuel pump killer) or aftermarket pumps which are a short lived deal,

On these it's best not to skimp and go with an a/c delco pump. Some aftermarket units really don't hold up so well. Also GM has issues with their connectors, most units will come with a replacement connector. No question that HAS to be changed. I believe on that one the ground for the pump is on the frame around the LF area, I would take it a part and clean it to make sure its making good contact. I would also check the battery & body grounds.
You would be surprised the problems a missing body ground can cause, the voltage WILL find it's way home, one way or another.

I would also inspect the tank & pick up screen for debri, if there is a bunch of junk in there it would be a good idea to pull the tank and have it cleaned.....
