99 buick century brake noise Sign In

99 buick century, v6, 3.1L, 96500 mile

When I try to make a stop, I can feel and hear the "click" (not scream) noise underneath the car, this happened again when I start to move the car again. The more frequent I made stops, the louder and more frequent the noise.
I have changed the brake disc a year ago by myself, before and after I have changed the discs, the noise was always there. What is going on with my brake? I really appreciate it if you can give me some suggestions. By the way, I don't think that the noise is from the C/V joint. if there is problem in C/V joint, when I make a turn, I will hear some noise. But now,I did not hear any noise when I make right or left turn.

Is that to say doing brakes didn't change the noise a year ago? I suggest you check all four brakes completely - not just pad wear but all parts involved. There's lots more than just pads and discs involved in brakes. It might still be a CV joint, perhaps a wheel bearing or yet another steering/suspension or other part,

I don't think that there is problem with the CV joint, I did not hear any noise when I make turns. Yes, replacement of brake pad did not remove the noise. By the way, I found that the noise is louder and more frequent on a sunny day, on a rainy day, the noise is gone.

Did you replace the anti-rattle clips? It's possible that they had broken and fell out prior to replacing the pads. Most pads, now days, come with new ones, but....
Does the rattle stop when you apply the brakes?
