vehicle is a 1992 Plymouth Grand Voyager LE, 3.3 engine with 189,000 miles. I started the van and had a hard brake peddle with both the yellow and red lights on. I was able to drive the van home, only a couple of miles. Later I started the van again and still had the same problem. After doing a little research, I started the van again and let it idle for about 20 to 25 seconds the lights went out and the brakes were fine. I guess the pressure has to build up in the booster. You can hear the pump turning on and off. While driving if you hit the brakes fast the lights will come on and go right off but the brakes would be fine. I had a hard brake problem at 149,000 miles. They replaced the dual function accumulator switch and they also did the recall #685 replacing the piston pkg, core return, pump and mtr abs. Is this the same problem I'm having? If it's the accumulator switch the part went from $128 to $325 plus labor. If it's the pump and actuator they have a lifetime warranty. What's your opinion?
