I have a 96 Town Car purchased a month and a half ago, and the air compressor kicked on all the time, but you would see the car go up, then the light came on and I heard the compressor going but it was not raising up,started the car in the morning and it did not come on as normal so I checked the fuse, it is blown. However I did not replace my fuse i have left it alone and I turned the switch in the trunk to OFF. It is currently not all the way to the ground its sitting just a little low in the back. So to see if the compressor blew because my bags are leaking i am driving it around, so far it looks the same, its been on hwy, bumps, stop and go traffic and bounced up and down by hand. So i have a feeling that the bags are fine. I am alright with cars and can handle some things but i do not want to jump into something I can not handle so i need to know detailed exactly what I will be going through to fix it, can i buy my own compressor (if so which one) and install myself or is it hassle and should be taken to a mechanic. I also want to keep my air ride not swap for regular assembly. I have read a little bit and some people say that it all could happen from something as little as leaf in a line, so how do i check my system well enough for my own peace of mind i didn't fix a snowballing problem. Thank you
