All lights flicker, start and stop

2006 Chrysler, Town and Country Van, 3.8 engine. My problem is that all lights (headlights and instrument lights flicker. This problem comes and goes. Made a trip on the interstate of 45 miles and this happened 9 or 10 times. Sometimes but not all the time the brake light and the ABS light on the dash will flash for less than a second. The length of time this flickering last varies, sometimes 15 or 20 seconds and sometimes it may last for a minute or more. I carried it to a local repair shop , put it on his computer, didn't find the cause, suggested I might try a chrysler dealer. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Check your brake fluid level first. The float could be bouncing in and out of low level warning and that would put both lights on. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

By all means make sure brake fluid is at correct level. To add - is this vehicle on it's original battery by any chance? Strange things happen to especially the Mopars when battery is losing it. Doesn't matter if it tests ok - if original it's too old, T

With the headlights and running lights flickering you may have a bad conntion some where. Does they go on and off as you go over bumps?

I would have to agree that it sounds like a bad connection.... But before doing any the battery needs to be load tested as Tom suggested. Age of a battery has nothing to do whether it's good or bad. I have defective batteries right off the shelve and it always seems to be on a difficult install when I didn't test the battery 1st.........

No , bumps don't seam to effect it. No pattern. I failed to mention that when this happens sometimes the gauges will move back and forth real fast. only for a second.
