Antifreeze in gas tank.

I found my car vandalized this morning, with antifreeze very obviously poured in the tank. The cover was open and the cap was unscrewed, and the empty antfreeze bottle was on the ground right there. I was wondering if I have any other options other than taking it to the shop to be flushed out and cleaned.

Do not try to start the car or even turn the key on. You have to drain the tank and clean it, you have no option there. You should also replace the fuel pump and strainer. Sorry to tell you this, but the last thing you want is antifreeze in any parts of the fuel system. This will lead to fuel pump failure and possibly engine failure. Steve
