Hi, I havea 97 dodge ram 1500 and my brake lights stay on when i let go of the pedal. They will go off when I pull the pedal up. When I park the truck I need to wedge something under the pedal so the lights will go off. My brakes work fine, stop the truck with on problems. Please tell me how I can fix this before someone hits me from behind. Thank you Jim

I think that switch is adjustable. Look to see if the center part has something that looks like threads on it. If it is, you can adjust it to make the contact stay engaged. They are bad about some of the plastic being broken off and the switch needs replaced. Being way2old is why I need help from younger minds

Thanks again, I fixed the switch, the plastic mushroom end was broken in two pieces, so I replaced the switch.
