Bypassing the AC Compressor Sign In

Frown I have a 94 Chevy Astro Van, 4L and two wheel drive. The a/c compressor went out and tore my belt off. Can I bypass the compressor completely by using a shorter belt? The car starts when not attached to compressor pulley. This van is old, lots of miles but runs well except for this. The guy I have working on it doesnt want to have to take off the compressor, because it is a bitch to get to. I am a mom and need my van....which is easier to use a smaller belt or to put on a bypass pulley?

you have to pull the ac comp out and put a bypass pully in . use the factory belt tho.


should be availasble at local parts house. price may vary.you need to give vin of eng.

They only make those bypass pulleys for certain vehicles. hopefully, yours is one of them.
