Cavalier Starter not shutting off Sign In

UnsureWhat is making the starter in my 1996 Chevy Cavalier continue to run after the starter switch has been turned off and the key removed? This starter is new and I have also replaced the starter relay. The only way to stop it is to disconnect the battery. Engine is a 2.2 FI.

Re: Cavalier Starter not shutting off Sign In

youve got a bad starter, the solenoid is sticking. take it back out and to the shop you got it from and they should replace it for you

Although I haven't seen it for quite a few years, I've run into scenarios where low battery voltage will prevent a starter solenoid to disengage. Just a thought.
