Check engine light

I have a 1996 Toyota Corolla 4 cylinder with 124002 miles. About a week ago my check engine light came on so I took the car for service and was told cylinder #3 was misfiring. They said the car needed a tune up and that was done. The car ran better but the very next day the check engine light came on again. Does anyone have any idea why this happen and what should I do? Thanks.

joey; Have them recheck the codes. If it is the same one, they need to go a bit further in their diagnostics. There are many reasons, other than spark plugs, that can cause a misfire. I don't own the business, but if they diagnosed the problem incorrectly, there shouldn't be an additional charge to recheck it. IMHO. Good luck. Loren SW Washington
