Clutch juddering in reverse Sign In

Hello,

Just after a bit of general advice so any help would be greatly appreciated!

I had my clutch replaced 2 weeks ago in my peugeot 206 as it was squeaking!

However now whenever I reverse from cold start it judders quite badly. I thought it was just the car park where I live/wheels slipping but after having a play around today it has done it a few times!

I have got the mechanic coming back to have a look on thursday but as this was the first time I have used him I am hoping he is not going to try and make out something else needs replacing. Being a female I have had this happen when I got my bonnet resprayed after a lorry reversed into me (while waiting for its MOT might I add!) but I knew a bit about respraying so they got caught out!

Just want to know if anyone has any ideas what it may be? It did not judder before the clutch was replaced.

Thanks in advance

Louise

Sounds like the clutch is chattering, probably because he didn't resurface or replace the flywheel. It will likely have to be done over again.

Apparently my tracking is out, and I must have hit a kerb? Could someone knock the tracking out while changing a clutch because I sure havnt caused it!

Thanks

Louise

If this vehicle is front wheel drive and the sub-frame has to be dropped in order to get the transmission out, it can get knocked out of alignment. You should have the front end inspected and an alignment performed if that is the case.

Re: Clutch juddering in reverse Sign In

Thank you, just spoke to another mechanic who believes it was caused by when the frame was dropped. I guess I either pay out to get it fixed or I can go back to the original mechanic and tell him my thoughts. He was adamant I had caused it when I supposedly hit the kerb but the mechanic I got advice from suggested hitting a kerb would not cause the alignment to go out enough to make the noises the car makes when I turn the wheel fully! It's hard to know what to do for the best!

Does anyone have a rough idea of how much a job like this would cost to repair? Being a woman I like to go into the garage with a rough idea of what I'm talking about so I don't get ripped off!

Thanks again for all your help

Louise
