I live in a cold climate and left my 93 buick skylark outside for a day when it got down to around -10. when i went to start it, it started very sluggishly and the radio, windshield wipers, and air did not work. The air vents were pushing out zero air even after the car warmed up. i drove it around for a bit then turned it off and turned it on again, when i started it the 2nd time it started fine and ran just like normal. any ideas what was happening the first time?

Not trying to be a wise guy with my answer but it really sounds like the temp is playing a big factor. In those temps its hard on a lot of systems. Extreme cold or heat will take a toll on a battery. I would start with testing that.

If there is any way to park the car under cover that would help. Another option would be a block heater but I would suggest some type of reminder on the wheel, window anywhere that you are sure to see it so you don't forget to unplug it and drive off....

We are getting a cold snap as well, today it didn't even break 60° and tonight it suppose to dip all the way in to the 40s!!!!!Tongue Wink
