Confused on my brake problem! Sign In

Unsure I have a 1991 Chevy Lumina. Today the brakes decided they didnt want to work right. They did fine until I left from getting gas at the station. After that, the pedal went to the floor and when the brakes would grab the car would pull to the right. I checked the fluid, it was full. I checked for leaks, there werent any. With the car running while in park, I pumped the brakes, they were soft and everytime I hit the pedal, I would hear a loud squeal. I never heard the squeal while driving it the rest of the way home, just with it in park running. The both wheels on the passenger side are hot to the touch, and both on the drivers side were warm to the touch. I dont even know where to start to figure this out. I'm not much on brakes, so if anyone has a clue and is willing to let me know, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!!

The pulling sounds like a frozen caliper which can make brake fluid boil and then the loss of pedal feel. I also suspect the master cylinder but that wouldn't make a car pull or select one wheel TMK, T
