Coolant Leak Just After Starting Engine

I have a '95 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera with the 3.1L V6. I have a coolant leak. It seems to leak only for a few minutes just after the engine is started, not while the engine is off or after the engine is warm. If started when cold, let run for a minute, and then turned off it will continue to leak for several seconds before stopping. Coolant is visible on the face of the engine above left of the crank pulley while leaking and collects below the pulley. I'm not sure it's coming directly from that area or if it's migrating from somewhere else. The engine seems to run normally, no missing or sputtering. My thoughts are maybe a freeze plug or possibly the water pump seal even though the water pump is not in that area. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You may have to get hold of a pressure tester and then get under the vehicle to see where the leak is originating from.
Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

As DS said a pressure tester would really help isolate source. By your description of just a momentary leak IMO the water pump is most like to be able to do that and seal better or fully with some pressure on the seal. Wipe area or blow dry with compressed air helps to actually see exactly what and where. If needed a dental mirror made for automotive use helps too.
Pump should be easy if so on this. Getting the system properly filled can be a challenge. Pay attention to an leaks of course as they usually lead to something that will be destructive that could be avoided. Good luck,

Most auto parts stores have a tool loaner program. Some require a deposit that is returned in full once the tool is returned. My local Carquest loans them out without a deposit.
I too was thinking water pump after you mentioned it was above the crank pulley but it's possible it is leaking and running down from somewhere else as you suggested.
