2004 Cadillac Deville, 4.6 engine, 75,000 miles I've owned the car for approximately 30 days and my cruise has been working flawlessly and tonight I engaged it, it worked until I braked and since then it wont resume or engage with a new setting. I've checked the fuse and it's good, and the indicator light on the steering wheel and the dash light up. Could this be related to a light drizzle and the safety feature that disengages the cruise if it's unsafe to use due to conditions? This is the first rain/drizzle since I bought the car as I live in Arizona. Big John

I don't know of any such safety feature. I would more suspect an issue with the brake switch but that would have to be troubleshooted. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

Can anyone address this problem other than referring me to the Cadillac dealer? The weather is now dry and the cruise still wont work, and I've checked the fuses. BigJohn

Who referred you to the Cadillac dealer? All I said is that it needs to be troubleshooted. If you have that ability then go for it. If you don't, then you don't have much choice but to pay someone else to do it. We can supply diagrams and answer technical questions but somebody on-site needs to have some electrical equipment and knowledge.

After delving into the problem a little further I found the fastener on the end of the servo cable was stuck inside the end of the cable that twist locks onto the cruise control module and in addition the web strap inside the module was broken. Since the web strap doesn't appear to be serviceable I've ordered a good used module.
