Door Lining and seal replacing Sign In

Hello,

My 1991 Subaru Legacy L has taken a bit of a beating this winter. The door lining (the rubber lining the door to prevent air in and out) has frozen to the car frame on several occasions and has ripped out of the doors holder/clips for it. I was wondering if I have any hope of even being able to replace these linings? Also is there a technical term for them and are they designed car specific?

thanks,
- legit

Re: Door Lining and seal replacing Sign In

Not certain but it's probably specific for that car. Silly stuff but it can get expensive. Check out good used stuff as even that old it can be real good. Harder to find than to replace - probably just pinches in or has plastic clips inside rubber. If you are routinely subject to that freezing and harming the rubber I would and do use something like Armour All or just like Pledge furniture polish which repells the water in the first place so they aren't a problem for me in an ice and snow belt.

This door seal will be in two peices - for the door itself and top side for the window which will be trickier to replace if that one is bad too,
