Door locking problem Seat Ibiza Sign In

Hi, I am having problems with the locking on a 2005 Seat Ibiza. The drivers door opens and locks as normal, but I am having trouble with the other 3 doors, especially left rear. Generally after a couple of minutes of messing around pressing lock/ unlock it locks fine. In the last couple of weeks though the left rear door has taken longer to lock, sometimes having to be left unlocked over night. Does anyone have any ideas about resetting the locking or any other solution? Thanks.

Re: Door locking problem Seat Ibiza Sign In

This car not sold to the US so totally limited as to how locks where designed but can't be totally different than many others.

Notes on this: I find the LEAST used one(s) will go slow or quit first un to seize up motor. They are mostly a turning electric motor designed to make a rod push and pull not a solenoid but could be wrong model by model.

If still working at all now at about 10 years it may be time to take door panels off and lube the moving mechanisms for about everything with proper products. Window things of metal and plastic use a spray grease and rubber a spray silicone. Locks and latches inside I would use something like WD-40 and or a spray grease depending on what you find where.

Rare other is that the relay for locks is weak even if it tested properly it might not send enough power thru so the easy ones work first and best. Have only seen that a couple time and was hard to find why - other type vehicle totally.

If you do get inside doors just be careful and note how they are fastened for re-assembly. Probably a paper or plastic water/air cut to fit over holes for access that may not like removing so OK IMO to tape that back up when finishing up.

Just go slow until sure of how panels come off. Breaking things take much more effort that the problem at hand sometimes,
