I have a 1996 GMC Jimmy SLT 4 dr. 4x4 with a broken drivers side mirror. The mirror is broken off at the base. Do I need to remove the entire inside door panel to replace mirror with a new one or is there an easier way? Many thanks for your help.

Yes you need to remove the entire door panel. If you want to risk it, you may be able to just pull part of it back, but I would not recommend it. It doesn't take very long. Click right here and it will take you to a page that tells how to repair.
