I hear that's common in Maserati's like yours.

If that's all the effort you can but into your question don't be surprised if the answers are just as incomplete.

I've used OTC and snap on and ease obd scan tools with the same results.
I'm working on a 1989 Subaru Justy. Obd 1 system.
All I'm looking for here is that a possibility if an ecu shows all obd codes know to man. that it could be the ecu is bad. Thank you

Sure it could but I wouldn't say it automatically does.

OBD1 and Subaru would have me confirming the scanners are compatible with the vehicle- contact OTC and others via their web site directly

Re: Ecu displays all dtc with scan tool Sign In

I know I've never seen this engine (1.2, 3 cyl, two types listed) however what is the problem or symptoms you are trying to fix or just playing with a scanner? Compatibility would be my first concern never mind the age.

Does you scanner work on another?

IMO, tons of possible problems with OBDI or better pre 1990 at least you should just find the problem or isolate it fairly easily starting with basic functions of an engine. Is this running at all or what?
