Engine hesitating\ sputtering

Hi my name is Dylan I have a 2009 Chevy traverse 89000 miles give or take . While accelerating the engine hesitates\ sputters just for a second at a time but does it continually unless I'm going 40mph or above any suggestions? Any help is greatly appreciated thank you
