Engine light that wont quit Sign In

My 2003 honda civic started throwing a p0134 code a while back. I was told it was a bad oxygen sensor in bank 1, sensor 1. I bought a bosch exact match part and had it installed. The batter was disconnected and reconnected, within a mile the light came right back on, but this time with a weird hesitation when i accelerated. I gave it a few days, still running choppy. I bought another part, exact match NTK(?) sensor and had it put on. Same thing happened. I got fed up with it and put the old one back on to stop the hesitation. Inspection is coming up soon, any ideas as to what it may be??

Who told you that,...... the mailman?

The code means there is no activity on that sensor. That doesn't mean the sensor itself is at fault. The problem needs to be troubleshooted by a knowledgeable tech. It could be an number of things.

Make sure you don't have any exhaust leaks at or near the oxygen sensor.
