FUEL PUMP Sign In

I need to know how to check if I need a new fuel pump on my 99 Dodge Stratus, 6 cyl. How do I test it? Or could it be something else?

Re: FUEL PUMP Sign In

Why do you think the fuel pump is bad? What is the car doing or not doing?

Re: FUEL PUMP Sign In

if its electric take out the pump stick the inlet side in a can of gas then hook two wires to your connections positive and negative then hook it to a battery if its good it will spray a good stream of gas out if it sprays but not to much its most likely bad keep in mind this is the hilljack method so be carefull not to catch yourself on fire

Install a fuel pressure guage on the test port and crank the engine. The guage will show the fuel pressure in psi. You will need to obtain a service manual for your vehicle that will give you the proper specs.
