Fix it or sell it? Sign In

I've already sunk about $2500 in repairs to my '90 Honda Accord EX that were way overdue. I still need new brakes, the odometer sensor is going and I may have an exhaust problem. I just hit 150K miles. Is it worth doing more repairs or is it time to get something newer? Advice?

Tough call on when to give up. Trouble is that a newer car will cost you and the old one might still have years in it and you'll get nothing for it.

I have had a lifetime habit of picking up cars with high miles that people got sick of the expense of repairs but they had done most of them and I got a car cheap with little more to do.

Best I can say is if the car has been cared for and rust is not a big issue you may do better to keep it. It's your budget that dictates, T

If the car runs good I would just drive it. You ahve already puts that much money into it, don't let it go to waste.
