Ok so this has stumped everyone so far... My mother has a 2003 ford expedition. It started that the radio wouldn't turn off when the key turned off taken out and the door was opened. Now the interior lights won't come on when the car is off, the car must be started. Now it has progressed to the car wouldn't start so it needed to be jumped. I believe that it would try to start but wouldnt turn over. It was left running and then we turned it off and tried it again and it would start. Now though it's completely dead and wont even try to turn over. It needs to be jumped every time. That battery is fairly new. I'm not a car expert but I grasp the concept of most things mechanical, I feel like a possible short or something? I really need some help and some direction... The local mechanic couldn't figure it out.
I'd really appreciate any help.

You just need a better mechanic. You aren't going to find a magic answer online. The problem has to be troubleshooted systematically using a wiring diagram by a tech that knows what he is doing. Your first step will be to charge and test the battery.
