Volvo 98.

Awfully cold weather today.

Car starts, I go to hit the gas pedal, and nothing, completely loose pedal. Did not have a loose pedal before today, now it's completely loose.

Is it related to the weather?

Does it have something to do with what my mechanic warned me about a month ago about my front left wheel being loose.

How much should this cost?

HELP APPRECIATED THANKS!

What exactly does "loose pedal" mean"?

Do you just mean the engine isn't responding or is the pedal itself flopping around?

Volvo 98? Year, make, model, and engine size?

Don't know what could be wrong with the accelerator without a visual inspection, so can't give you a ball park estimate on what it would cost to repair your problem. You should have the vehicle towed to your mechanic and have them figure out what is going on with it.

volvo 98 s70

the pedal is flopping around, and therefore it doesn't accelarate when you press on it.

I guess we should flip a coin to know the specifics of the model and the engine size.

Re: GAS PEDAL COMPLETELY LOOSE Sign In

i have no clues about cars, no idea about the engine, I would guess it's the standard one that goes with the volvo c70 1998, I can't imagine how tho. this piece of info could matter - flat to the ground accelator, flopping around, no acceleration, out of nowhere

could the cold weather have played a role in this

can it possibly have anything to do with the front left wheel having been loose

As suggested, tow it to your mechanic to have it inspected.

Could have been related to the weather but not the loose wheel.

WARNED YOU!...Yet you still drive this with a loose wheel!

You oughta be happy the accelerator is loose and won't work....
