Gas/temp/odometer not working Sign In

I have a 95 ford ranger 2.3liter with unknown high miles. The gas, temperature and odometer gauges do not work but the speedometer does. We have had someone tell us to replace the fuel sending unit but I am wondering if it could possibly be the instrument panel? The truck doesn't run hot so I know it's not the thermostat. Any suggestions. My son is going to use this at college so we would really like to get this fixed as soon as we can.

If the speedo works and the odometer doesn't, the cluster needs to come out and sent to a speedometer repair shop. They can also test the other gauges to see if they are working. It isn't uncommon for gauges to go bad on those.

You can test the gauges by grounding their circuits at their respective senders with the ignition on. If they don't move even grounding their sender circuits, there has to be a problem in the cluster. Grounding can be done at the back of the cluster's connectors to eliminate the wiring.

Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.
