Hi, I am looking for help with my truck it is...

Year of vehicle: 1995
Make of vehicle: GMC

Model of vehicle: Jimmy
Engine size: 4.3L V6
Mileage/Kilometers: ~270'000

-The problem is whenever i turn on the heat in the car, I hear squeeling from the serpentine (accessory) belt. I am assuming something is seizing. Thing is it goes fine without the heat on. I left the heat on and it shredded a belt and melted rubber all over the pulley thing all the way on the left of the engine. (Don't know what it's called) I replaced the belt already and it runs fine. . .until i turn the ac on then it tears belts apart. I dont think whatever pulley that controls the heating is turning at all when i engage the heat and causing the belt to slide over it rather than turning it.

-So what would be causing this thing to seize up? It's winter here and were about to get a cold snap. =)

Thanks

Most likely needs an A/C compressor clutch.

To add: A temporary fix should be to unplug a/c compressor at the clutch and tie it out of harms way,
