Help - Intermittant Start Issue Sign In

195 GMC 1/2 Ton, 305v8

My truck is having an intermittant starter issue. On some attempts to start, the starter turns slower than normal, almost like the battery is going dead, I had the battery checked out as good and the connection to the battery and to ground are good. After the first attempt to start the truck when it goes very slow, it cranks at the normal speed. The problem happens throughout the day if the vehicle sits for more than 30 minutes. In addition, the problem is growing and the starter is going slower and slower on each first attempt to start but then does fine on the second. Does anybody know what can cause this? Thanks a ton for the help.

WELL IF THE BATTERY AND CONNECTIONS ARE OK ID PUT A STARTER IN IT. SOMETIMES THEY CAN GO BAD AND GIVE A REAL SLOW CRANK. OTHER TIMES THEY JUST GO COMPLETELY WITH NO WARNING SO FEEL LUCKY AS YOU JUST SAVED YOURSELF A TOW!

If you have had the battery checked then it sounds like the armature in your starter is starting to die. To save some penny's get your starter checked 1st. See if there is enough power going to the unit before you go and replace it. It could be a wiring problem. Get starter checked 1st.
