I have a 2003 Staurn VUE 4cyl, 2wd and the HORN is stuck ON. I have traced it to the contacts? in the steering wheel. I DISCONNECT the airbag but I can't find or get to the horn contacts under the airbag? airbag cover. I am pretty sure this is where the problem is because I can disconnct the horn wire harness in the steering wheel and it stops Brooks White

Brooks: You seem to have isolated where the problem is and the more serious issue is messing with the airbag and any wiring in the steering column as it could go off. I strongly suggest professional help to repair/replace whatever is broken with the horn switching AND thusly knowing that airbag system is still operational as intended! **************** That aside - you must be the hit of the neighborhood with a problem like that LOL! Not really that funny though - is it? T

Hey - there's an electrical problem that can allow horn to go on so who says some other wiring isn't also crossed up? Danger lurks with this. Air bag systems could deploy from assorted problems and some will be able to deploy after the car's battery is totally smashed too as in an accident! Not a place to fool around. There are ways to disable the system which varies car by car. Simply removing a fuse isn't necessarily enough! T

Can't guess at a cost without knowing what the failure is. Could be an outer switch where you push or a broken peice of metal making a contact not generally seen till steering wheel is removed. Below is a generic style of how contacts maintain contact of current for a horn in the wheel while allowing the wheel to turn. These items are AFTER the air bag and wheel have been removed. Most horns have power up thru column and when pushed you are adding ground which completes the circuit and horn does its thing. A broken bit of some metal could make that connection - can't tell without looking so can't guess a price. Figure a labor rate and a couple hours possible and unknown right now what parts if any will be needed, T
