How To Repair Power Windows Sign In

I could not find very much information about how to repair my power windows so I figured most of it out myself and then wrote a how to with photos.

You can find it at this website:

That's a nice little how to you put together Sperryruss. I like the fact that you didn't keep the important info, i.e. parts contact info a secret that required contacting you. Hopefully you'll help someone out. Thats decent of you....

The only suggestion I would add is while that would work perfect for an older Taurus, not all door panels come off the same way and with window motors and regulators that is probably the biggest obstacal to get past, is getting the panel off with out breaking the fasteners, hooks or snaps so it can go back on tight.

You may what to add a paragraph that all cars aren't the same. If you go to the Autozone site you can research a few other different cars under their repair section to get familiar with where the panel removal section is and under that section you can direct your viewers there that have a different vehicle or to a different database if you find one better........... That info would be a huge benefit because if you can't get your panel off, you can't fix your motor...........

Nice job on the site and trying to help out some folks just for the sake of helping........

I thought I mentioned something along the lines that other cars were different. I will have to read it over again and see. If not I will add the info.

I have broke a few fasteners myself :)

Thanks,
Sperry

Re: How To Repair Power Windows Sign In

You know you very well could've had it in there and I missed it.....sure wouldn't be the 1st time and unfornuately I know it won't be the last......

A good database makes it so nice..... The newer ones aren't so bad but for a while there it seemed to be the norm to hide a couple of screws behind a speaker cover or light or emblem or even a reflector..... a reflector????? Are you kidding me!!!

The best ones are where you fight to get it off and when you finally get it off some stereo installer has totally covered the door with dynamat and of course they want it back on.........Mad

I think we've all broken a few......Wink
