How do I fix my exhaust? Sign In

My car has dual exhaust and where two exhausts attaches to each other, its broken, as you can see from the pictures. This is a FORD Contour SVT. Is there a way to get this fixed without having to replace it completely. http://i283.photobucket.com/albums/kk284/cimbom420/002.jpg http://i283.photobucket.com/albums/kk284/cimbom420/001.jpg. Thanks for all your help!

The link to the picture doesn't work but you really only have one solution. Take it to an exhaust shop like Meineke or Midas. They have the ability custom make pieces of pipe and section them in where needed. It's a lot cheaper than buying replacement parts. If you do need parts, they have aftermarket options that you won't find in the parts store.

Those pipes look pretty rusted. Going by what you've posted it really looks like you are looking at complete exhaust. (If the rest of the pipes look like these)

Actually I can see it a little better in my post..... The frt pipes look pretty decent. You may get by with just the rear pipes.....

There's really not much question that the pipes in that immediate area are going to have to be replaced. They will have to inspect the rest of the system to see if anything can be spliced in or where the pipe separates.

Well thanks a lot guys. I asked couple of places in town, one of them told me to replace it completely which was going to run 500 to 600 dollars and the other place was going to put customized pipes in that area which was gonna run between 250 to 300 so either way I am screwed it seems like:)

The 2nd quote doesn't really sound too bad...There is a bit of work involved there so I can't imagine you finding it for much cheaper, short of doing it yourself....
