That's not a decision anyone here can make for you. It depends on many factors like, what condition is the car in now? The value of the car should not be the deciding factor. Reliable transportation always has a cost, even if it exceeds the value of the car. The only time when the decision should be financial is when the future costs to keep the car running are going to get real extreme and you know it's coming, then you get out before throwing good money after bad but if the car will provide reliable transportation at reasonable upkeep costs for the foreseeable future, then it's worth keeping. That is unless, of course you are financially well off and just want a newer or nicer car. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

you have to look at a few things financial situation for two reasons. 1) could you afford a new or newer used car if it came down to it. 2) can you afford to make repairs down the road such as engines and transmissions i usually look at it like this. if the car is for the most part reliable......and a repair should come up.....i see it as.....well i can pay 1500-2000 for a new transmission or 30,000+ for a new car. you can change your tranny several times before it would even out. generally what would put a car of that age in its grave in my book is a blown engine. everything else is relatively minor __________________________________________________ 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee 2002 Ford Ranger 2004 Toyota Corolla 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1

I agree with hammer time. It really depends on alot of factors, and in the long run it is your choice to make too. hope you figure it out soon. :) (links not allowed)
