Ice in Cooling System

I posted a question in the Heating/AC section but I think this section may be better. To make a long question short... If the temperature is below freezing and I only have water in my cooling system, it will eventually freeze, so is it better to drain all the water out of the cooling system so that it is dry? (Obviously anti-freeze is the best solution, but I don't have that option at the moment) Thanks!

This was discussed in length at the other post and should follow up there. Best to drain what you can in these situations and get anti-freeze in and coolant circulating. It's hard to drain out all water in most vehicles, T
