Jeep Commander Sign In

Yesterday my 2006 Commander stalled on the highway and the check engine light illuminated. It started right up? I'm concerned about driving it further; do I need to tow it or can I drive it into the service center. What causes this?

Re: Jeep Commander Sign In

Your call and I know the feeling. If it runs smooth now and feels right if you have a back up and hopefully in a motor club like AAA go for it if not too far.

Light is on so a code with hard info is waiting to help techs find out what happened. Once in a blue moon it's nothing to worry about but vehicles are vehicles so always be prepared for a breakdown no matter how new or what.

If not running properly and no funny smells out exhaust it's hurting the converter(s) and the less you do that the better vs a tow if that what makes you more comfortable.

You know the route and if no place to be broken down you are taking a chance but we all do now and then,

T
