Jeep TPMS Reset Procedures Sign In

Hello! Looking for some advice/confirmations on how Jeep TPMS systems work. After rotating tires is there a need to re-learn any positions? This would be specific to a 2022 Jeep Compass. Searching around online it seems that people are posting that the Jeep Systems auto re-learn after driving a few miles.
I'm most familiar with GM's systems that require a learn procedure to be initiated and each sensor activated in a specific order. I have the EL-50448 tool that activates the GM ones.

Also for the Jeeps, what's the procedure for introducing a new TPMS sensor into the mix (from a spare or from a different set of wheels)...will that also auto re-learn?
I plan on keeping it for a while so if I need to buy another tool to activate these ones I can...just looking for advice on what's needed. Thanks!

TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR SENSOR VERIFICATION

NOTE: The Tire Pressure Monitor (TPM) Sensor verification test works with the use of the scan tool and a suitable road test environment.
NOTE: The vehicle must reach the indicated speed below for the given amount of time in the scan tool to display and verify TPM Sensor values.
COMPLETED DURING ROAD TEST

NOTE: This procedure will require two individuals to complete.
Clear all DTC’s prior to connecting vehicle to mobile internet hot spot.
Prepare scan tool with mobile internet hot spot.
Connect vehicle to scan tool and cycle to the TPM sensor data under the Radio Frequency Hub (RFH).
With an assistant operating the scan tool, drive the vehicle and reach a minimum of 20 mph (32 kph).
Continue with road test until all values are obtained for the TPM Sensors through the RFH. The values should be recorded within the first five minutes of driving. However, value may take up to 20 minutes in order to be recorded on the scan tool.
Monitor the scan tool data for the TPM Sensors and check for Active DTC’s.

Thank you! That matches what I was seeing with google too. Seems like the scan tool is just part of a verification and the actual relearn process is automatic.

Yes, I would think that you probably wouldn't need the scan tool if you are just moving around previously registered sensors.

You would likely need the scan tool to activated a brand new sensor.
