You are in some trouble!! Two things I can think of is have a local place replace the locks as if the car was stolen. Those kits should be in stock and if you have an air bag let the pros do it.

You can try with the vin # getting GM to send the code and keys can be made closer to you and sent the fastest way possible. You can read the vin thru the windshield and you may be on record as the real owner or they don't do this. Good luck, T

The kits are for cars that get stolen with broken locks. They sell those aftermarket.

A huge GM dealer near me is Herb Connolly 800-439-6300 or 508-879-0300 Eastern time ask for "Jay" in service or whoever as they are all good as to who you should call to get the help you need. Also at www.herbconnolly.com . Good luck and let us know how you make out. T

Re: LOST KEY PLS HELP CAMARO CHEVY Sign In

Not to throw a wrench into to this but this car was originally equipped with Pass lock theft deterrent. There is a resistor chip imbedded in the key.
So you will need to know which one of the fifteen different blank key your theft deterrent module is using. Each one of these blanks has a different resistance value, even if you get someone to cut a key that mechanically turns in the lock it has to be of the proper resistance or the car will not start.
Like what Tom has said call a Dealership with the VIN and they may have the key cut code along with what # key resistance value.
If they don’t have that on file, which there is a good chance of them not, you’ll need to find someone with a TECH II, which is a GM specific scan tool and they should be able to figure out the code #.
If not your only other choice if you want to keep the car original would be to order a new theft deterrent module, cylinder lock assembly with a new key.
The first time you start the car with the new equipment installed, the key resistance value will be burnt into the module’s memory. There are ways of disabling the system but sorry I’m not going there.

Re: LOST KEY PLS HELP CAMARO CHEVY Sign In

Tom has given you a couple of numbers and a web site, a few posts back. Use them and you may get the answers you’re looking for.
I can’t see why they wouldn’t ship the required parts you need as long as you can prove who you are, that the car is yours and of course a means of payment.
You may even get lucky and they’ll have a record of the pass lock code and key code that they’ll be able to match and cut a key for you.
The chances are a bit slim but if anything at all was done to the cars ignition lock or pass lock system while it was under warranty GM will have a record of it in there data base.

Re: LOST KEY PLS HELP CAMARO CHEVY Sign In

I drive older cars and keys are just keys. All have hidden keys in those magnetic holders and I've never needed them. Sister just bought a new car and the third key was going to cost more than $200. Holy Sh**T!!

It's a little off topic but I was once big into boating. We kept our boat at a marina and they demanded having keys but were not always there. I always taped a spare where I could get at it and had to once. I dropped the key in the water and that was the end of that! There's a lot of cell phones down there too - none mine.Smile

If your not familiar with marinas they call your designated parking space a slip. Doesn't sound very confident but that's the way it is. They provide two wheeled carts to get stuff to your boat or yaught which is cheifly to carry some food and lots of booze for a good time out to sea. Had some of the best times of my life with boats but it's over now. Lots of fun, just have the bucks for it! T
