Hi, First time posting here. I have a 2014 Honda Civic touring. I ran into a problem that is quite weird, not sure exactly what it is. Want to post here first to see if I can diagnose it. I was driving over some rough road construction roads the last couple days, and today, I noticed a horrible screeching sound when I turn left, or hit a decent bump. It sounds like metal scraping, kind of like when break rotors are rusted, and you first start up, but higher pitched. Thought it might be a rock In the dust shield, I bent them back a bit, but nothing. The sound seems to be coming from the passenger side. I sprayed some water in there, and it stopped, but as soon as it dried it was back again. It doesn’t sound like a growling sound like a bearing, or clicking like a CV joint. Might be a rock in the caliper? Here is a link to a YouTube video with the sound. https://youtu.be/mVQEb09luo4 Thanks, John

You probably picked up a small stone or something that got caught behind the backing plate. You need to get it into a shop to take the brakes apart to inspect it. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
