Neon Vibrating When Stopped Sign In

2002 Dodge Neon with 50,000 miles on it.

Often times when I stop at a light, or when I just turn my car on I can feel my pedals and steering wheel vibrate. If I let off the brake my car idles at a much slower speed than it normally would without the vibration. This doesn't happen every time, sometimes I can go for days without any vibration whatsoever.

I found by happenstance that if I turn my steering wheel while the car is vibrating it will stop vibrating and if I take my foot off the brake my car idles at its normal speed.

I have had previous transmission problems, had some leaking valves. The leaking has been fixed to the best of my knowledge (haven't seen any transmission fluid on the ground in several months) but it could potentially still be a problem.

this one is a little tricky.

my first thought would have been engine/transmission mounts are bad.

now the issue with the brake pedal made me think that there is a vaccuum issue with the power booster and when you release the brake and/or move the steering wheel you are increasing the idle

If brake is causing low idle speed and the roughness due to low idle the booster is probably leaking. Turning the wheel tells the PCM to raise the idle to cover that load which must be covering both. Seems like this vibration is just normal for the idle being too low caused by a vacuum leak in booster. If you plugged it off as a test (careful - no power brakes while plugged!) and it can't duplicate it then replacement of the booster is the likely fix,
