2001
GMC Jimmy
174,000

While driving over the weekend, I started hearing a whirring? sound when shifting out of lower gears (automatic). Seemed to happen more often when trying to acceletate faster. Then on the way home, the noise seemed to stop. About 10 minutes later, car began to suddenly lurch or lunge when I was driving - not shifting, just cruising. felt like I was hitting a hole? foot slipping off gas pedal? Neither of which happened. Also just had front bearings replaced and head gasket replaced in last month. Can any of this be related??

Without hearing the noise or being able to drive it, its really hard to say..

Since you have had work done to it, it wouldn't be a bad idea to go by the shop and have them listen to it and drive. They would be able to tell you if it was something related to the repairs or a new problem that has come up....
