Hi,
Just became a member and this is my 1st posting.
I was getting this check-engine warning light on my car so I took it to a mechanic. The mechanic guy diagnosed it with a scanner and told me the camshaft & crankshaft sensors needed to be replaced. I trusted him and let him replace the parts.
When I went back to take my car back, he said now it had another problem with the idle air throttle part which was perfectly okay before he touched my car! He further explained that now I should take it to a Nissan dealer since only they have these equipment & tools to perform what he called "throttle body relearn procedure". (He should've told me this first before he started replacing anything on my car, shouldn't he?)
My car is in a worse status now, high RPM pulsating like crazy and the engine running really noisy. :( I've got this gut feeling that he did something wrong and not being responsible for. Did I get played or am I just being extremely unlucky here?
For your information, I googled and have been trying all sorts of methods that supposedly do the "throttle body relearn procedure" tricks but nothing worked. :(
Can you please tell me what can be done with my car and/or the mechanic? I'm really confused and don't know what to do.
Any advice or suggestion will be highly appreciated.
P.S. : I'm an owner of 2005 Nissan Xtrail.

Welcome: Wrong guy and place apparently. See if you can settle up with that shop and find help for issues like this before it ruins this vehicle!

Here are the only 2 learning procedures for that vehicle. Neither one requires the uses of a scan tool.
BASIC SERVICE PROCEDURE
Throttle Valve Closed Position Learning
DESCRIPTION
Throttle Valve Closed Position Learning is an operation to learn the fully closed position of the throttle valve by monitoring the throttle position sensor output signal. It must be performed each time harness connector of electric throttle control actuator or ECM is disconnected.
OPERATION PROCEDURE
1. Make sure that accelerator pedal is fully released.
2. Turn ignition switch ON.
3. Turn ignition switch OFF wait at least 10 seconds. Make sure that throttle valve moves during above 10 seconds by confirming the operating sound.
Accelerator Pedal Released Position Learning
DESCRIPTION
Accelerator Pedal Released Position Learning is an operation to learn the fully released position of the accel- erator pedal by monitoring the accelerator pedal position sensor output signal. It must be performed each time harness connector of accelerator pedal position sensor or ECM is disconnected.
OPERATION PROCEDURE
1. Make sure that accelerator pedal is fully released.
2. Turn ignition switch ON and wait at least 2 seconds.
3. Turn ignition switch OFF and wait at least 10 seconds.
4. Turn ignition switch ON and wait at least 2 seconds.
5. Turn ignition switch OFF and wait at least 10 seconds.
