I have a 1999 GMC Sierra (Old Body Style) 5lr 2wd. While driving at regular highway speed, the ABS, Brake light first come on and then the security light comes on and motor looses power then stalls. I pull over to the side of the road, turn off ignition key and restart vehicle and it will be fine, happened three times already and sometime when it does the lights will go off again and truck will still run. Please anyone with info on this please help. I think it is the ABS module but I am not sure.

ABS should just default to regular braking action if light is on. I really don't think ABS has a thing alone to do with the way the engine runs so get code reading for both.

There are many items that could make it run poorly and stall. The most common issues with these is proper fuel delivery but there's lots more. Proper code reading should lead to the area of trouble,

My guess is that the voltage supply is dropping as if it were a dead battery but it's likely a connection issue somewhere.

Thanks Tom and Hammer Time,

Just out of curiosity, I have a friend that works at salvage yard so I replaced the module....your right that didn't solve the problem. Will take it in to get some readings done tomorrow. Will also go over electrical connections tonight.
