Hi,
I have a 2002 saturn lw200.
Today, my wife was driving my brother in law to work, she was stopped at a red light, when it turned green, she pressed the g as, it took a few seconds to move, it moved for about 10 seconds, then she lost power steering and power to accelerate. the battery light and oil can light came on, she was still able to use the radio. Any one have an idea of what could have happened. Oh my brother in law checked the oil, and said it was dirty.
Please help.

Did the car stall and not restart?
Will the engine crank over with the starter motor or does it act like a dead battery?
A few more details would help.

it was still running, so it didn't stall, she didn't try to start it again. i can't get to it at the moment, im just trying to get an idea whats wrong. She still had power for the radio and clock, so i dont know if it acted like a dead battery.

Sorry but we'll still need more info from you, first hand; before we can begin to help.
When you go to the vehicle have a set of boosting cables and maybe a can of fuel just in case?
