Possible Brake Problem

I have a 2003 Pontiac Grand Am. I was in an accident a few months ago, but the car has been repaired since then. For some reason, the car acts like it's accelerating on it's own. I take my foot off the gas and it's still going, and even with my foot on the brake, it takes a long time for the car to stop. I almost hit another car the other day. A couple weeks ago, I had my oil changed. I thought that would help. But it didn't last. Now, my car is doing it again. I put a lot of mileage on it; about 30 miles a day. The accident was in April, and it only started doing this recently. This brake thing is worrying me. For example, I can put the car in park, take my foot off the gas, and the engine is still revving. I have to literally take the key out of the ignition in order for it to stop. Has anyone had or heard of this?

Try to look for a vacuum leak around the intake area.
