I have a PT Cruiser 2006. It has already had the left wheel barring replaced. Has 57000 miles on it. Now, for the last few weeks it feels like it's going to die on me when it stands still, like waiting for a light. It's better when I turn the A/C and/or the radio off. My mechanic says he doesn't know what it is but he said it won't die on me. He put some green foam (or something) in the line to clean it out in case some dirt got in there. Driving up to NY from the south I met a woman who also has the same exact problem and has for a year now. She says the car hasn't died on her. No more Chryslers for me! What's going on?

Check your idle air control motor. It can cause your idle to surge. When your AC is on the ECM raises the idle slightly to keep the AC compressor turning faster and compensate for the added load, which can explain why turning on the AC is helping it run better

In addition to Nick's suggestions have your tech get a can of throttle body cleaner & a little brush and clean the throttle plate real good. If they get coked up too bad you can get this problem.........
