Re: Ford Econoline Braking Problem Sign In

hello,
I saw your post regarding your ford. I know it was a while back, but my 2002 is doing the same thing and cant seem to figure out why. All the same symptoms and had brakes and rotors done recently. I get a severe vibration in pedal and steering wheel when braking.
Did you ever figure out the problem? thanks

Re: Ford Econoline Braking Problem Sign In

Hi - I detached your post from a thread pre dating electricity so let's start over.

Severe vibration while braking suggest warped rotors especially when felt in the steering wheel would be the fronts.
What was done with your rotors - turned or replaced?

Was that your complaint that lead to doing the brakes? Did this problem slowly reoccur or begin all of a sudden or right after any service to wheels?

Sometimes rotor to hub contact isn't right because of rust and just taking a wheel off and on can drop down enough dirt or rust dust/flakes to make wheel untrue when refastened - sudden "out of round" feel.

Please explain your exact vehicle and situation and get going on this,

T

Give year and size of van and we will look. he E150's had different characteristics than the E250's and E350's.
